Energy Savings

Energy Savings are the incentive that most people’s minds run to when thinking about solar. Saving energy, and therefore money, is a great incentive because the savings last as long as the system does (which is usually carries a warranty of 25-30 years).

Escalation

Additionally, electricity rates tend to go up over time. Over the past 12 years, rates in New Jersey have risen by about 2.5% per year, meaning with each year that your system produces free, clean energy, you save more and more.

Peak Shaving

One last thing that many people overlook, is that solar energy produces energy during the times of day that are most expensive. This means that should your system not produce enough electricity to meet your needs — which is sometimes the case — you purchase electricity from the grid at the times when it is less expensive. This idea is referred to as “Peak Shaving.”
